“Vai Brasil” Dress
Fabric:Tee cotton bought in Porto last year
Pattern:New Look Workroom 6070
Pattern Description: Misses Dress
Size: Uk 12
Year: Modern
Notions: None, It passed Mena’s test!
Time to complete: it’s so straight forward that it took 1h30. I could made it more expensive by lining or add interfacing as directed but I wanted an easy day-to-day summer dress.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. Just the sleeves look different. A lot less volume on the pattern photo. I ditched completely!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy. I loved this pattern.
What’s skills: No new skills were used.
Did you make any alterations or modifications? Besides adding length, nope. Ohh, I didn’t secure the pleas…
Did I mention I love this pattern?
First worn: End of July. Open ceremony party in my town!
Wear again? Yes. It’s comfortable and cute and very Brazilian!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn’t like the sleeves. After making as the pattern directed I realised I needed to reduce the volume. Since we are having a heat wave in the UK I dropped the sleeves all together.
Will you make it again? Yes… Oh I felt this pattern was made for me. I want to make it more form fitting, secure the pleas and add the zipper next time. I will make one in wool and long sleeves for the winter too. It’s flattering and easy to sew.. best of all. No FBA modifications!
Conclusion: I’m so please with this pattern. I didn’t have to do any significant modifications… Oh how good its to just cut and sew!!!
Are you excited about the Olympics? I cannot wait. Vai Brasil! (Go Brazil)
