The “Sip of Lemonade” Skirt

I had misgivings about this week’s challenge for one simple reason:  the color yellow makes me look like I am suffering from consumption.  Well, some shades are worse than others, but you get the idea . . .

This does not keep me from purchasing fabric that is yellow, however.  I already used this rayon/linen blend for another skirt in a pink color.  I really liked the bow embroidery, so I grabbed a small length of the yellow color as well – I just knew it would come in handy!

I decided to use my limited yardage for a straight skirt.  This keeps the color away from my face, but lets me have fun with color combinations that are a bit unfamiliar to me.

This is the second Beignet I have made, and for the moment I think I will put the pattern aside.  But I am quite sure it will not be the last time I use it!

And my blouse is from this year’s “Tickled Pink” challenge.  I thought it was fitting to pair the two together!
