Friends, I have never made a Lisette pattern before, and now that I have, I totally understand why these patterns are so popular! The directions were a snap to follow and I did not need to make too many adjustments for these two pieces to fit correctly.
I had never been a great fan of the color pink before this challenge. I was always told that redheads could not, or should not, wear this color. Now that I am older and no longer care what people think and I’m working through my stash, I am gung ho for all colors. It was time to embrace bubble gum pink with open arms!
I call this “The Prepping in Pink Outfit” because I threw it on as I was rushing around gathering supplies/cooking for Chicago Social Sewing. I was so comfortable in the loose top and pleated shorts while I ran around the kitchen – these will definitely be wardrobe staples as the weather gets warmer! The only adjustment I made to the pattern was using French seams on as many of the top seams as possible. The cotton was a bit fragile and started fraying immediately – I’m hoping this shirt lasts a little longer with the seams encased!
My favorite part of this Chicago Social Sewing session was definitely meeting this amazing lady:
There are no words for how fun/fabulous/smart/kind she is – Liz is truly fantastic in so many ways!
XOXO have a fabulous weekend, my friends!!
