Hot! Yay For Sew Weekly… Bewitched Beignet

Name & Location: Stevie, Brighton UK

Blog: Beebeesvintagedress

How long have you been sewing: 5 years

Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I have followed Sew Weekly for over a year now and I have met some fantastic people through it. The challenges are imaginative and fun and really push my creative boundaries. I sometimes need that little push and this was the perfect way to better my skills!

What do you love most about sewing garments: The freedom to dress myself as an individual, to be inspired by others and to be truly happy with the fit of the clothing I wear.

What do you hate most about sewing garments: Sometimes the time consuming factor of sewing gets me down. I am a naturally impatient person but getting a good quality garment is important so I do try hard not to rush.

What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I’d like to improve my skills as i’m sure everyone does. But I’d also like to have  wardrobe that harmonises and works as an entire entity.

Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: I would like to finish my degree in Fashion and Dress History and obtain my first graduate job.

What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs:  This is tough as I follow hundreds! I think my complete favorite is Patty at The Snug Bug. She has a talent for making fabulous, colourful clothing that fits beautifully and enhances her wardrobe.

  1. I love it. It’s such a fantastic colour!

  2. Hi Stevie, good to see you here as one of the ‘7 from England’!

  3. Ruthanne Edward

I love that colour combo. I’m not a huge fan of the Beignet skirt, but in that colour I think it looks great.

  4. Thanks guys, I have to admit this skirt pattern didn’t really wow me until I saw other examples of it. I’ve now made two and I will be making a third this year out of some amazing Liberty Cord!
@Diane, Thanks for the lovely welcome. Its going to be fun! I’m hoping it will push me creatively and help get my technical skills up! I’ve already learnt to catchstitch for next weeks project! x

  5. Great to see you up for the challenge again Stevie – you’ll have the buttonholes down pat, for sure. I’ve always enjoyed your styling of this skirt.
