Total price: ~ $11, Pattern: $5.40, Fabric: stash (about $5 when I originally bought it)
My challenge for this week was to make a shirt what would showcase a beautiful brooch, I have several and want to wear one on something other than a lapel. I decided that something sheer with a tie was perfect to add a decorative brooch and I went searching for a pattern that had no buttons or zippers since chiffon is hard enough to work with. Once I found and downloaded my pattern I went searching my stash for fabric. I have has this pretty chiffon in my stash for years just waiting for the right pattern, it was a perfect match. I took extra time to match the stripes on the fabric and change the sleeves on the pattern. I made a bishop sleeve instead of a fitted one and am very happy I did, again no buttons. Once the shirt was completed, I decided that none of the brooches I currently own looked right (I even tried making one out of a refashioned necklace) so now I am back to square one; looking for a brooch to match my new shirt.

That looks so great and to think you’ve had the fabric just waiting … Happy brooch hunting!
