The “relaxed” shirt

Here is the shirt! and here are the facts:

Name and location: My name is Sophie, I live in Boston, MA

Blog: inthemeantimeinbetweentime, not always the most up-to-date, ,sorry!

How long have you been sewing: Around two-and-a-half years. I’ve taken a few courses, but I’m mostly self-taught

Why did you want to commit to the Sew Weekly Challenge: I love the idea of getting my designs out there!

What do you love most about sewing garments: My favorite part is starting and finishing; I love creating the design, choosing the fabric, and putting the peices together. I also enjoy finishing the small details by hand, it gives the garment a more personal touch and really lets me shape the finish.

What do you hate most about sewing garments: Having to use the seam ripper! Starting from scratch is sometimes the best solution, but it can be really painful.

What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I would like to make more garments this year than I have in previous years, and I hope the challenge will be an excellent motivator. I would really like to create a cohesive collection, starting from the patterns. Hopefully I can keep up with the weekly challenges!

Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: To be on the right track

What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: I love fashiontoast.com and luxirare.com. Both are real inspirations.

Now for the garment details:

I also made the bag in the first photo – faux fur and pattern from http://bagntell.wordpress.com/, which is an amazing website for bags.
