The “Most Worn” Dress
Name & Location: Bethany Pearson, Simi Valley, CA United States

How long have you been sewing: 10 years by hand, 18 months by machine (I used to fear the machine)
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: For personal growth and strength. To progress in my abilities and discover new talents.
What do you love most about sewing garments: Being in the “sewing zone” brings me peace. It is an escape from my busy life of being a wife, mother, dog parent, daughter, and bridal consultant.
What do you hate most about sewing garments: I get too in the zone and it is hard for me to walk away when I really need to.
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: Not be afraid to make pants, get better at blouses and to not fear the button hole setting on my machine.
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: Try out for “Survivor” if that fails then my runner-up goal is to be more like Mary Poppins (practically perfect in every way, that is) Or maybe I should keep it realistic…To stick with a hair color and be satisfied with it!
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: Sew Weekly of course, Grosgrain, A Beautiful Mess, and Adventures in Dressmaking.

Your dress is beautiful! And your hand stitching must be, as well!
Thank you!
Awesome dress! Love the photo!
Thank you Brittany!
I love the dress, what an awesome color for you!
Thank you, I adore the color. I love blues.
What an awesome dress! Is that a 40′s pattern/design? (I’ve been eyeing something similar for a while now… )
Thank you Steph! The skirt is a Simplicity pattern and the top is one I drafted up myself.
