The “Me? On the Sew Weekly? Why how exciting!” Dress
Howdy friends (or rather, soon to be friends and comrades in fabric)! Here’s my little bio:

Name & Location: Crysta Swarts, Tacoma WA
Blog: crystabrittany.posterous.com
How long have you been sewing: A few years, on and off (mostly off!)
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I wanted a great motivation to break out the sewing machine and commit to making my own clothes, mistakes and all!
What do you love most about sewing garments: I love that everything is an option!
What do you hate most about sewing garments: I hate how seemingly small mistakes in measuring or cutting can ruin the whole thing in the end.
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I want to make a garment for myself that is cute and FITS.
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: I’m running my second half-marathon in May and my goal is No Tears (I may have broken down bawling last year around mile 12…)
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: I’m in love with Gertie and have had to delete all the fashion watching blogs from my reader because I would get sucked in for too long! And the Sew Weekly, of course. :)
I made this dress last summer using a thrifted tank top and old skirt. I was drawn to the skirt because of its crazy colors. I used a 60 cent piece of elastic to join the two together. It is a little shorter than I usually go, but I still like it a lot. (I made the necklace too, btw.) I can’t wait to make more this year and really fill my closet with my own creativity! I know you all will help inspire and motivate me!

Was that picture taken on the UPS campus???
No, close by though, at Annie Wright School – are you a (former) Tacoman (which I always read as Taco-man)?
I went to school at UPS. lol After graduating, I moved back home to CA, though. I’m too much of a Cali girl at heart.
I love your title. I feel the same way :D
I LOVE this upcycled little number! Too cute.
Your title totally describes how I feel! I’m looking forward to your creations!
