I was on the fence about posting this one.  I feel like it’s a bit boring.  But I’ve had this fabric in the stash for awhile and have just put off making it since, well, its not too exciting.  The challenge this week was buttonholes and this shirt had plenty.  Though I don’t really mind buttonholes, maybe since my machine makes really nice ones.  All I have to do is push the pedal!

I really do quite like the result on this shirt though.  I’ve been wanting a lazy day shirt, something that looks nicer than a t-shirt but is just as easy to wear.

I honestly made no alterations to this pattern except to take in the sleeves a  little bit since they were freakishly large and I made the petite adjustments.  Overall I think the fit’s pretty good, it buttons without gaping so that’s always a plus.  It’s one of the patterns that has the A,B,C and D cup options which I think they should offer on all patterns!

My little girl wanted to be in on the action!

I apologize for the quality of my pictures, lol!  Neither me or my husband are photographers but I at least tried to get outside this time.  I’m in awe of all the beautiful picture takers on here.  I’ll leave you with a few more shots of me trying to pose.  :)

  1. I think you look amazing!! And anything but lazy! Your chair is awesome and so are those shoes plus great accessorizing!! I will stop using exclamation now.

  2. Nice! It’s a cute top and matched with the whole 50s vibe looks classic. The shoes, necklace and hair scarf totally makes this pop!

  3. I’ve been wanting to make a blue chambray button down myself! It’s in my queue. I hate the whole posing part of this! I had a friend take my pictures and just felt awkward the whole time and did as many cheesy poses as I could think of.

    • Oh I hear ya! I feel so goofy in front of the camera. I hope you get yours done. It’s a really versatile piece that I’ve already worn a couple of times since I wrote the post.

  4. Cup sizes in all patterns…one can dream. :) I’ve got a button-down shirt or two in mind but haven’t gotten around to it. Hopefully sometime this year. (Love your hair.)

  5. I think your whole look is fantastic, and I love the purple hair color change!P.s.I want your shoes!

  6. It may only be a simple shirt but with simple it’s got to be right – and you definitely got it right. Styling is ideal.

  7. Everyone needs one of these shirts and it looks so good on you, especially with those shoes!

  8. I love your poses and your chambray shirt is a great backdrop for your colorful accessaries, including hair. There are a lot of steps to a shirt, so I commend you on the execution. I just got one of those Amazing Fit patterns and I’m happy to hear you were pleased with it. I’ll give it a go!

    • Thank you so much! There are a lot of steps to a shirt. I know because I’ve made many bad ones! :P I really did think the amazing fit pattern was pretty good, better than most of the offerings anyway.

  9. You’ve done a great job with everything!

  10. So impressed. It looks fantastic!

  11. I love your whole look too, your shirt goes excellently with your capri’s and your hair looks gorgeous and your poses are super fun.

  12. I love the way you have styled the shirt! It can’t be boring with those amazing heels!

  13. Love the red necklace and peep-toes! You look great in this shirt. I totally agree about the multiple cup options being offered in everything; that would be wonderful. To be honest, I’d still have to do an FBA, but it wouldn’t be nearly as major.

  14. The shoes make this outfit. Seriously. I especially love them with the cuffed jeans! Awesome job!

  15. Love this outfit! You can’t go wrong with a nice buttondown! I can’t believe it only took you four hours to make– you’re a pro!

    • Oh thank you. I’m no pro though believe me! I’ve just made many BAD button downs, lol. So now putting them together is a breeze. Plus the pattern was already cut out from when I thought I would make it a few months ago. :D

  16. I’m so glad you made this shirt – I was considering the pattern at Joann’s (99 cents, who can beat it!) but wasn’t sure it would turn out cute. Now I am sure! So cute! Also, totally dig the purple hair. Also also, the last picture is great – excellent posing! :)

    • The 99 cent sales are the best! The picture on the front (like 98% of patterns) is not the best right? Buuuut it is a pretty good basic pattern, except for those large granny sleeves, but that was an easy fix. :) And thank you for the nice comment!

  17. OMG I love your hair!!!! Love the shirt too. I need a good button down shirt. I might have to seek this pattern out. Thanks for sharing!

  18. You do lazy day right! And with multiple cup sizes, I think you’ve just sold out that pattern everywhere. Such a cute outfit :)

  19. I LOVE your whole outfit. LOVE. And the shirt looks fantastic!
