The “Introductions” Dress

Name & Location: Jennifer (Hi, so nice to meet you!), currently living in AR

How long have you been sewing?: 3 years, though I’ve been more consistent this past year

Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: To futher motivate myself to sew more often and to become more involved in the lovely online sewing community!

What do you love most about sewing garments: The ability to customize my own quality and fit to create a very personal style

What do you hate most about sewing garments: Cutting out the pattern! I have my idea and the fabric in hand and I have to wait to sew until I’ve navigated large pieces of tissue paper? …Boring!

What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I’d like to end the year with more new self-stitched garments than new ready-to-wear pieces hanging in my closet.

Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: To see shiny new places! We love to travel!

What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: Sewaholic, Green Apples, Annabellebumps, My Happy Sewing Place… The list goes on! (For fashion, I frequent blogs such as Unabashedly Prep)

Choosing my favorite item for this post was actually difficult. I have several items that get more wear than this one but I can’t resist this cheerful red color and swishy skirt!

  1. I also hate to cut out patterns and fabric. It’s so tedious. Your dress is beautiful!
