I’m not much of an accessories person, but I do love scarves. Have you seen the 25 Ways to Tie a Scarf in 4.5 Minutes YouTube video by Wendy’s Lookbook? If not, quickly run over there and then come right back when you’re done.
Who knew you could tie a scarf so many different ways? I’m doing a “European Loop” here according to Wendy.
For the challenge this week I made up a simple sleeveless Pendrell to go with my gray scarf. I chose a fabric with a similar gray background that was punctuated by white flowers covered in teal stripes.
This blouse was quick and easy to sew up. To save on fabric I pieced together my bias binding, not caring about the extra seams since the binding is only used for the facing. I followed my measurements, grading between sizes where I needed. After basting it together, I altered the fit a tiny amount at the princess lines above the bust since it came out a bit baggy across the shoulders. I also cut it three inches shorter than the pattern pieces so that I could comfortably wear it both tucked and untucked. Finally, I finished off the hem using my narrow hem foot.
