The “Birds in the Garden” Dress

How long have you been sewing:  Though it pains me to think it, at least 15 years.  My Granny patiently taught me all the basics, I was very lucky to have such a great teacher.
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge:  I don’t sew enough.  I buy (and buy, and buy) fabric and patterns but hardly turn out anything it seems.  My husband would probably also like me to make a dent in the huge pile of fabric in our house.
What do you love most about sewing garments:  The freedom to make any wild, beautiful, crazy, ugly, insane, amazing thing that pops into my head.
What do you hate most about sewing garments:  Set in sleeves.  Isn’t that completely ridiculous.  I should really get over it and get it right already. :D
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: More sewing of course.  And to get better at sleeves.  And probably better at fabric selection.  My husband swears I have no sense at all when it comes to picking out fabric.  Just because a girl picks out a “hospital-gown-like” fabric once or twice…
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: Become a hula hoop expert.  And to finally stop cutting my hair off.
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs:  Gertie, Lladybird, Handmade Jane, Sewaholic.net,honestly this list could go on and on so I’ll stop there.

    I have a seen quite a few of your creations on flickr and they always impress me. So glad to see you are joining in with Sew Weekly this year. I can’t wait to see what creations you come up with.
