Sewing challenge #1

Summer Dress
Here are the questions: and here are my answers!
Name & Location: This is easy. Bridget Anderson, Fort Collins, CO
Blog: I only have an etsy account. Between work and hobbies, I don’t have time to blog!
How long have you been sewing: this time: 2 years. I made a quilt for my dad when I was 12 years old and took an extended vacation from sewing soon after that.
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I love sewing, clothes, fashion and the sense of accomplishment by making my own things. I love the idea of making new things on a deadline.
What do you love most about sewing garments: It’s my own – it fits me – and nobody else will have the same thing.
What do you hate most about sewing garments: I can get overwhelmed by too many projects and too many options.
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I want to be able to make great things and not stress about it.
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2012: Be more proactive
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: I check Anna Maria Horner and Sew Mama Sew daily, I also love one of my dear friends blogs: To Each Their Own Style. And, of course, The Sew Weekly.

That’s so beautiful!
I like the two fabrics you have used together.
“I can get overwhelmed by too many projects and too many options” – I so agree, I get way too ambitious and excited about loads of things at once….
Making things on a deadline is da bomb… I’m really looking forward to sewing “together” this coming year!
Very cute dress. :)
Lovely dress – the colours suit you!
Lovely dress – I love the stripes and florals combined!
Love the pattern play! And it fits like a dream!
Hear Hear to a stress-free sewing year. Lovely colourful dress – the stripes make a great contrast
Ahhh! As soon as your dress popped up I made some sort of bizarre sound because I was so floored by its awesomeness! Super fabric choices!
Wow! Thanks for all of the wonderful comments!! I had a great time making this dress and enjoyed working with 2 types of fabric. It always helps having not only a great pattern, but also a great fabric store to choose these lovely things from. Thanks again, everyone!
