Allow me to introduce myself
Hello Sew Weekly Peeps!! I’m Wanett, from Brooklyn, NYC (this is always the first thing Brooklynites share with people, we’re arrogant proud like that)!

Pattern: Mociun Knockoff, a modified version of Dress M from Stylish Dress Book 1
Time to complete: About an hour
First worn: May 2010
Wear again?: Oh yeah! I love this dress.
Cost: The fabric was $1.95 a yard!
I blog at Sown Brooklyn (you see what I mean about the Brooklyn thing) and I’ve been sewing for…about 8 years (?). I wanted to take part in the Sew Weekly challenge because these last few months I’ve been wasting a lot of time sitting at my computer that could have been spent making beautiful things. I’ve always known that my time could be better spent. For me, being accountable to someone usually garners better results. Enter this challenge, where I will be accountable to all of you wonderful seamstresses.
My favorite thing about sewing, after having more clothes to wear, is the sense of accomplishment that creating gives me. Though, I must admit, I am often left frustrated when the fit or the pattern or the fabric or the color or the print or the me go wrong, and I end up with a dud.
I hope that when this year is done I will have made beautiful clothing, more crafty friends and myself happy. Hopefully, accomplishing those things will help me with my most important goals for 2012. More than anything, I wish to attain more positivity and productivity in all aspects of my life.
I have an astounding number of online haunts, which span all creative areas and interests. Many of them are sewing and fashion related. Some of my fave places/people are Dear Golden, Fly, Casey’s Elegant Musings, Coletterie, Patty The Snug Bug, Erica B, Meek n Mild and Keiko Lynn. And, of course, Pinterest. Which is an awesome amalgamation of everything good about the Internet. In my humble opinion, of course.
So, that’s me! I look forward to being seen and read here!
Thanks for the opportunity, Mena!
