Hot! A Little Administrative Business

A little travel for work, my mom being in town, fighting a cold and taking care of Penelope has made posting here (at least my own posts) a bit sparse. Hopefully that will be remedied in the upcoming week! But first, here are a few administrative things I wanted to post about.

1. The feed issue. A number of folks have written to tell me that the five featured contributors aren’t appearing in the core feed. I didn’t realize this was the case and am still trying to figure out a workaround for it. The volume of posts is not as overwhelming as it was during the first week, so you may want to subscribe to the full feed.

2. Contributors. If you signed-up to be a contributor last year, you would have received an email explaining how to create an account and the guidelines for posting. If you have yet to be able to sign-up, please let me know in the comments of this post. If you are a contributor, you should also be a member of The Sew Weekly Contributors 2012.

3. The unauthorized access issue. If you sent me an email about this issue, it’s been resolved. Thanks for letting me know!

4. Commenting! A lot of comments are being marked as spam and since I need to manually approve them, there’s a bit of a delay. I’m working on this issue so please bear with me!

5. I broke my sewing streak last week. You probably already noticed that I didn’t participate in the button challenge. I took a break and it felt good!

  1. Hi mena, I am new here and really enjoy your blog. I have been unable to figure out how to post on this blog. I tried to post photos with my cellphone to the email address given in the blog, and the message sent, but never was posted to the sew circle page. Question, is it necessary to be a blogger with a blog page in order to post and participate as a sew weekly contributor? Is my iPad somehow incompatible with posting? I have signed up to be a contributor, but the directions for posting seem to indicate that a blog is needed to be involved. Clarification would be appreciated. Until then I will continue to sew along and enjoy the contributor postings. Thanks, Rowen

  2. Hi Mena. I’m a member of the contributors group (new member) and I have not received an email on how to post contributions. I’m not sure how long it normally takes, but I figured I’d make you aware. Thanks! Relynn

  3. Mena, I wasn’t able to complete the contributor form until shortly after the New Year, and I was wondering if that was too late to become a contributor since I haven’t heard anything. If it’s too late to join, that’s fine, I’ll just continue sewing along on my own! Thanks!

  4. Feel better soon! It’s great that you can take a sewing break every now and again!

And please don’t mark my comments as spam ;-)

  5. I’ve been trying to find the posts from featured contributors that I’ve missed from the past few weeks (I normally read through my Blogger feed). But I can’t figure out how to navigate this site–one of the reasons I’ve been reading through Blogger instead, actually–I’ve tried and failed before too. Any experienced readers have tips on how to find the featured daily creations?

  6. Hi Mena, I’ve been loving the Sew Weekly posts since I found you six months ago and while it did take a bit of um-ing and ah-ing on my part I’d like to contribute this year! I hope it’s not to late to sign up? (And I also hope you get some time out for yourself soon!) :)

  7. Even rock stars need a week off :D Thanks for all your hard work!

  8. I signed up to be a contributor, but when I tried to register it would never send me the conformation email. I checked and rechecked that the info was correct but I never got one. I managed to somehow show up on the contributor forum but I can’t post any of my weekly creations. I am really impressed with your hard work and determination, and the site has come such a long way. Keep up the great work :)
