Hot! SW 2012: Call for Contributors!

Mail-header2

In thinking about the direction of The Sew Weekly in 2012, I’ve realized that only having only four women (five, including me) sew for an entire year is a bit limiting (and kind of exhausting). There are so many great ladies out there that answered the call for contributors and I just can’t pick four. So here’s how The Sew Weekly will work in 2012:

Between 50-75 women will be invited to join a Sew Weekly community (forum, mailing list or private Twitter list still TBD). You’ll receive The Sew Weekly challenge a few weeks before it is scheduled to go live. If you’re interested in participating, you’ll submit your weekly creation as a blog post on The Sew Weekly. The Sunday before the theme’s week, I’ll select the five posts that will be the Monday-Friday posts for the week. All other posts will become part of a new group blog. Yay!

If you’re so awesome that your creation blows me and the community away each week, you could very easily be featured on the site for all 52 weeks. There are no limits to the amount of times you can be chosen. Creativity, photography, promptness and interestingness all contributes to being chosen. You don’t have to be a sewing pro in any way. Thanks Everyone! Sign-ups are now closed.

  6. I won’t apply to join in because I’ve already set myself my own challenge for 2012 (details on my blog), but I’m already looking forward to reading about everyone’s creations next year.

As someone who’s nearing the completion of 50 projects, I can agree that it’s been quite exhausting, but on the other hand, I am glad to be up and running with sewing again. I think it’s a great idea to have the option of choosing which projects to go for in the next year, as this will make it possible to sew in more depth and investigate and try out different ideas and techniques without being under too much pressure to meet a rapid succession of deadlines.

  8. I signed up. I don’t know if I will be picked, but my goal for this year is to get more of the challanges done in a timely manor. Looking forward to the new format. Might even start a blog too ;)

  9. Hi Mena, I tried clicking on your links to the call-for-contributors form that you mentioned in the last paragraph of this post, but I received an error message. Is there a way to access the form another way? Thanks!

  10. Hi Mena!
I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to do it weekly, but if I could participate every once in a while I’d like to join. Not sure if that’s ok or no? The links don’t seem to be working for me to go to the signup, etc.
