Most of them – or they’d have been used already!
I don’t really have a “Oh I can’t use this” Well…I do, but I know its going towards a quilt, I just haven’t found the right one yet! Other then that however, I don’t have a too precious to be used piece…I do however have quite a few “What was I thinking, what will I ever use this for?” And to make it worse, I have the entire bolt!
I have quite a few “What on earth do I do with *this*?” pieces (and I always feel like a genius when I finally figure it out), but nothing that I feel is too special to take a pair of scissors to. I’m always eyeing** vintage Marimekko online, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on an actual purchase — I suspect it would become my too-good-to-cut piece.
**openly drooling over
Just one. It’s one of the only fabrics I bought when I first started sewing that I didn’t regret later (most of the fabric I bought then makes me wonder what the hell I was thinking– I just didn’t appreciate then that if you’re going to put the time and effort in, the fabric and finished product needs to be worth it). It’s a beautiful blue and brown woven fabric with a geometric design that’s reversible. The color arrangement is slightly different on each side. It’s thicker, so I would need to make it into a dress or skirt, but I can never seem to find a pattern that I trust to work out well and that will show off its reversible nature. Maybe this challenge is the push I need!
Two big pieces of vintage fabric: a silk and a cotton. I keep looking for the “perfect” patterns, but even if i did, i am not sure I could cut into them.
embarassing to admit! What a great challenge this week. I wonder if I can bring myself to participate???
way to many… i have a lot of pieces that i bought for a particular reason, than changed my mind, and now i can’t seem to will myself into cutting into them…
I mostly buy fabric with a project in mind… and if it’s very expensive, I probably won’t. I have two yards of red silk, though, that are rather precious to me…
My fabric stash consists of a measly four pieces, and one was purchased yesterday! But two of those pieces are of the way-too-good-to-use variety: one is navy wool and the other is a matching navy wool pinstripe. Gorgeous and dying to be turned into 1940s sportswear. I have the pattern. I’m hoping the courage comes this fall!
I have a few that were pieces I was given by other people. If I buy it I love it and have a plan for it. I just do not get to those plans in a very timely manner.
