TSW Contributor: KazztheSpazz
Because I'm not a total unreasonable taskmaster, the ladies who contribute to the Sew Weekly are allowed to sit out challenges from time to time. Debi, handpicked Kazz (aka KazztheSpaz) as the community member who she'd like to take her place for the week. Check back later tonight for her music-inspired creation!

How long have you been sewing: When the Holly Hobbie sewing machine just wasn't cutting it and I purchased my first sewing machine with my own money at the age of 17. The first thing I made was out of a lace curtain, sewn straight up the sides with holes cut out for my head and arms to slip through, I remember the reaction I received and from that point I never stopped. Oh! and I should point out that I did wear a slip and tights under that lace curtain.
Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I had gotten myself into a clothing rut, having a break from sewing I would wander the shops for something different to wear and quickly realised my frustration, either the item was too expensive —listening to my internal monologue whispering "you -can- make- that", or and the thought of someone else wearing the same thing sends quivers to my sciatica. The Sew Weekly has set me back on the right path the only aisles I'm frequenting are Spotlight, and thrift shops. This may sound naff but I will say it anyway sewing makes my internal tom tom tick, she makes me happy.
What do you love most about sewing garments: The whole creative process: that flashing idea, picking the pattern, then the fabric, —I'm pretty sure I have dribbled a little stroking fabric. Do you dribble? or is that just me? I love wearing and feeling fabulous in my own handmade creations and hearing those words.. 'Where did you get that from?' LOVE IT!
What do you hate most about sewing garments: I really dislike the cutting stage, I'm hoping to get my sewing space sorted this summer. I managed to find a handmade ping pong table from hard rubbish and plan to place 5mm acrylic sheeting on top for me to use a rotary cutter on, this will certainly make things easier and quicker. I also dislike when the bobbin runs out.
What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I want to challenge myself personally, learn new techniques, become more fabric savvy and definitely be more eco friendly.
Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2011: I really want to become a better writer; for my blog that is. I really admire people who can just spew out words and it sounds so fancy. Reading, I love reading, so very time poor though… yes I want to read more.
What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: I stumbled across Veronica Darlings blog some time ago and she put the fun back into sewing for me. Definitely Sew Weekly, Gerties New Blog, Colette Patterns Blog, I don't mind Elegant Musings either. Fashion blogs: Style Bubble, Kingdom of Style, Garbage Dress. I really really wish with all my stars Tomoko Nakamichi from the Pattern Magic books had a blog with online sewing classes, I'd sign up for sure. Pure genius. That's what I want to learn, yes those kooky designs would tickle my internal tom tom just nicely.
