MTL: Doing the Two-Step Dress
What can I say? I like red dresses.
Original Inspiration
Resources
- Fabric: Classic Seersucker Red/White ($7.98/yard from Fabric.com)
- Pattern: Simplicity 2248
Tips
- Red piping should be used at the hemline, bodice wrap-around and armholes.
- If you want a look truer to the original, you can modify the wrap pieces to provide more of a princess neckline.

That is way cute! Added to my pattern wish list.
I like the pattern better than the original dress. I wish we had a large supply of patterns over here…
Oh that is similar to this dress on folksy: http://www.folksy.com/items/1878865-White-and-Blue-Pinstripe-Linen-Sailor-Wiggle-Dress
which I was wondering if you would feature :)
I’m keeping a file of all the MTL dresses that I want to make, I can’t wait to get stuck into them!!! :)
I’m thinking of using piping similar to this in a dress I want to make but I’ve never done it before. Any advice?
