  1. Cowboy hats and boots!

  2. Cowboy boots. Jeans. Cowboy hats. Western done poorly is bad, but Western done well is always striking.

  3. Cowboy boots. Tooled leather belts.

  4. a good pair of cowboy boots & well-fitting jeans for sure… i also love a nice basic plaid flannel button-up. costume-y western clothes, especially those pearl-snap/embroidered shirts, are my faaavorite although i do understand they aren’t for everyone. what can i say – i’m from nashville. it’s practically in my blood to love that kind of stuff :)

  5. I prefer the prairie interpretation of Western wear: calico dresses with flirty flounces, western boots, well-worn boot-cut jeans, fringed leather vests, straw cowgirl hats, gingham shirts with mother-of-pearl snaps….worn one or two at a time, not all together, of course. Unless one actually lives out West or in a part of the South where western wear is the norm–or is actually participating in a cattle dirve–it would simply look like one was appearing in their own private country music video. It definitely would look out of place in the mid-Atlantic region! :-)

  6. My rancher dad always said that only truck driver’s wore cowboy boots, but I do love a low heeled boot. Of course jeans are a classic no matter what and nothing is sexier on guy (in my mind) than a well-cut western shirt. I do love how men’s western wear is cut so slim. Can you tell i grew up out west ? Shirts with prints of horses running through the sunset are always bad.
For the ladies: I love my western tooled purses !

  7. agree with the others- cowboy boots came first to mind. either well worn and simple or very fancy for dressing up- those can’t be too outragous.
cowboy hat but only if it is one that has seen some use.
Then there is the shirt- yoked either fancy or plain.
jeans- classic Levi’s – for daytime- well worn. for evening still a nice dark blue.
    that’s one Texan’s opinion!
