MTL: The Floral Tunic Dress
Researching Make This Look is proving to be quite an educational process for me! For today's look, I learned (from the all-knowing Wikipedia) what Ikat is:
Ikat, or Ikkat, is the method of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres. The dye is applied prior to the threads being woven to create the final fabric pattern or design.
The original inspiration is an Ikat print, though it's hard to tell from the collage below. You just know that once Jessica Simpson learned about Ikat from her fashion designers, she just had to use that word in sentence… like immediately.
