Betsy McCall Paper Dolls

image from tpettit.best.vwh.net From the "my favorite thing on the internet right now" category, high resolution scans of every Betsy McCall paper doll page from McCall's magazine in the 1950s. Although the Betsy McCall page continued into the 1990s and are documented here, I have to say that my favorites are found in the first ten years.

I used to have ‘Bunty’ comic in the UK until I was about 11-12. There always used to be a cut-out doll on the back page – loved it!

  7. I love paper dolls! I still have some even though it’s been 40 years since I played with them.
By the way there is some good inspiration here – I especially like the 1951 going to the beach red sundress with the smocked waist and just that one tiny line of white piping on the skirt.
    Fantastic – Thank you!
