Friday Fabric Finds: April 8
This week's Friday finds are really quite fabulous. Not only do they have some serious yardage, but they were also fairly inexpensive considering their source (the Alameda Antique Fair last Sunday).
I love the print on this silk! The photo doesn't capture the irridescent quality of the fabric, but there's quite a lovely shine to it. I don't think this fabric should be used in anything but a puffy, 1950s style dress. I love it! It is 3 yards at 44" wide and I got it for $5.
While this next fabric isn't so much my style, I have a feeling that once it's made (probably into another 1950s-style full-skirted dress), I'll love it. It's fairly sheer so it will need to be lined. Mark my words, it will turn into a favorite dress of mine. And for 4 yards for $4, I couldn't resist buying it!
Oh, I love this piece so so so much! So much so that I didn't even bargain when the seller told me $10 for 4 yards. At Alameda, I always bargain but I was sold the minute I saw the piece. Imagine the possibilities! I see a playsuit with matching skirt! Or, if I'm daring a bathing suit with matching skirt. I love this piece so much! My favorite find of the week!

Ooh, I love the purple one! The bottom fabric DOES have playsuit written all over it. Something saucy!
That bottom fabric is fab!
Oh, Mena, I am in heaven!! I am so looking forward to my SanFran trip!!!
I was at Alameda too on Sunday and didn’t find a thing! All the fabric I saw as either very small and/or way too expensive. You must have gotten there very early and gotten all the good stuff!
good finds!
