O.K. although I probably watched all of the Gidget shows..
I’m wondering why they would have her put “dish soap” into the washing machine? Weird… It was a cute show! Love all of the examples…. thanks for sharing.
Great timing! I’ve just hauled my sewing machine out after 10 years and your blog has inspired me to get back to sewing. I’m looking for inspiration for clothes to wear at the cottage this summer. My first project is from the 1959 Gidget movie with Sandra Dee, the outfit in the first scene, pink cigarette pants and gingham windbreaker. But your post has given me some more ideas – sewing is addictive!
Thanks for blogging, Darlene
I love this post! I’d actually never heard of the Gidget TV show until I ran into the box set at Amoeba last year. I love the movies though (and Sally Fields), so I bought it. I’m still not as much a fan of the show as I am of the movies, but it definitely has its moments. Many outfits on the show absolutely turn me off. However, you’ve picked some good looks here! I adore the yellow blouse with the pink trimmed Peter Pan collar. I look hideous in yellow but imagine it would look just as cute in a light blue or green.
