Hot! Sewing Spaces Interview

Over at the Blue Gardenia, Denise asked me a few questions about my sewing setup. The room photographed there is in "clean mode." Believe me, you don't want to see full-on messy mode. Actually, I'm all about keeping it real so here are two shots of the room as it is right this moment.

You'll notice that there are now three additional bookcases of fabric. I've amassed that fabric in the past couple months since I did the interview. I don't know why there is upside-down jack o'lantern on the floor. The desk is, indeed, a mess.

  1. I wish I had a great stash like yours, and I bet there are all sorts of goodies hidden in there. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I love it! A bit like my creative space at the moment :-)

  3. It’s actually a bit of a relief to know I’m not the only one out there with a messy sewing room! Thanks for sharing. :-

  4. my sewing area is ALWAYS messy, I kid myself that if I had more storage it would be better but I doubt it, I’m like you, just can’t stay tidy with my sewing area!

  5. My main problem at the moment is my sewing desk is propped up on the top of a unit i use for storing laundry-there has been a worrying amount of pins ended up in the washing machine-someday its going to end very badly!
I wish I was tidy. sigh.

  6. My sewing area is a disaster at the moment. I actually have too much fabric – 1 yd and under – that I need to get rid of. Glad to see I’m not the only one who functions in ordered chaos! :)

  7. I feel much better now! I have yarn and pattern dividers on my sewing table now.

  8. Ah-ha, the room in action! Looks great and full of activity!

  9. lol – I currently have a big pile of fabric sitting on my mini-trampoline at the moment. It won’t fit into the storage tubs I have and I keep having to shift piles of things from the table to the ironing board to the chair and back again as I need the specific space.
