Blog: My Happy Sewing Place

How long have you been sewing: Regularly since November 2009

Why did you want to commit to The Sew Weekly Challenge: I love sewing and it makes me so happy. One of my goals for 2011 is to spend more time sewing, so this is a perfect challenge for me!

What do you love most about sewing garments: I really enjoy the creative planning process.  I love seeing something through from an idea in my head to an outfit that I can actually wear!  I'm a vintage sewing gal so there's also the added fun of recreating some of the most beautiful garments from the past.

What do you hate most about sewing garments: Hmmmm…That's a good question.  I don't truly hate anything about sewing.  One of my least favorite parts is when I am very near to finishing a garment but still have lots of fiddly details to attend to!  I'm usually so impatient at that point :-)

What do you want to accomplish this year with regard to the challenge: I really want to sew through the decades.  I've been thinking a lot about sewing a garment from each year in the 30's and 40's (and I've even been thinking about the 20's and 50's too!).  I also want to try sewing with different types of fabrics.

Your biggest non-sewing goal of 2011: Really explore Scotland and Europe–this is the year!

What are your favorite sewing/fashion blogs: It's so hard to pick just a few!  Stop on over to my blog and check out my blog roll–I love them all!
