Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
On Wednesdays — when I go into the office — Penelope’s caretaker, Gemma, is a wonderful Irish woman who shows her a far better time than I ever do. Luckily, St. Patrick’s Day fell on a Wednesday and they have a big day ahead of them celebrating the festivities at a local event. I’m actually quite envious of Penelope today.
Of course I had to make Penelope her own St. Patrick’s Day dress. The dress is based on the most versatile pattern I have in my collection — Simplicity 3854. I absolutely adore this pattern because it’s not only incredibly easy to sew, but because it is simple enough to lend itself to variations. Here, I lengthened the hem and added the embroidery on the bodice. In the upcoming days, I plan on writing about all the dresses I’ve made using Simplicity 3854.
