The “I’m Too Old for This…” Mod Dress
What do you wear to a Britpop club for a good friend's birthday? Well, if it was fifteen years ago, this dress would have been quite fitting. However, I'm going to channel and old person and say "kids just don't know how to dress these days." Apparently jeans and hoodies are acceptable dress at Leisure in San Francisco. Regardless, I liked wearing my own mod creation.
The Facts
Fabric: Polyester knit from Darlene's.
Pattern: Simplicity 6634, circa 1966
First worn: November 2009
Wear again? Perhaps. Actually, most likely.

I noticed that you have mistakenly shown this pattern at circa 1946.
I actually made this dress in high school sewing class out of lime green hopsack in about 1969 or 1970.
Sure brings back memories.
Love your blog.
Valerie,
Thanks for catching that! The dangers of cutting and pasting. I’m going to correct it right now.
I actually missed out on buying a copy of that pattern at one time. How did it sew up for you? I had used a similar pattern and had the worst time with the neckline and sleeves. If you want, you can check out the drama here.
Sorry, link was left out of above comment:
